Melissa Inouye Biennial Grant

The Melissa Inouye Biennial Grant, established by the Global Mormon Studies Research Network, honors the legacy of Dr. Melissa Wei-Tsing Inouye, a distinguished historian and scholar of global Christianity and Mormonism. This grant supports innovative research in global Mormon studies, encouraging scholars to explore diverse perspectives and underrepresented voices within the Latter-day Saint tradition.   • Any academic discipline

Criteria:

  • Qualified projects may be new or ongoing.
  • Award funds may be used to cover expenses associated with the qualified project (travel, books, supplies, etc.) but may not be used to cover salary or capital equipment.
  • Funds should be used within a year of receiving the grant.
  • The awardee will be required to report to the Global Mormon Studies steering committee within a calendar year of the date funds were awarded, detailing how the funds were used and applied to the research project. We may ask you to present at the annual Global Mormon Studies breakfast at the Mormon History Association Conference.
  • Projects will be judged on global theme, originality, and how the funds best benefit the aims of increasingly diversifying and broadening Global Mormon Studies scholarship.
